Spark plug wire or tanged inserts are helically coiled and are made from 18-8(304) stainless steel to resist corrosion. These inserts are designed to repair threads in a wide variety of metals and come in multiple lengths depending on the application. Standard taps will not work for these inserts, only a specially made thread repair tap will work for installation.
