Large flange rivets are general purpose rivets with a larger than standard head size. The larger head gives the rivet greater surface area to put pressure on, giving the rivet greater holding power. Grip range is the amount of material the rivet will be going through, not the actual length of the rivet, which will always be longer than the grip range.
