Self-tapping grease fittings, also know as Zerk fittings, are made to cut their own threads into a pre-drilled, un-threaded hole to provide a port to lubricate a part with. They are made from zinc plated steel which provides mild corrosion resistance and feature a ball check valve to prevent grease backflow leaks.
