Split Lockwashers Hardened
Split lockwashers, also called "helical" lockwashers, have a split in the center with turned up ends that act as teeth when the fastener is tightened and bite into the mating material stopping the fastener from turning. Hardened split lockwashers are made from heat treated medium carbon steel.
